In arabic a word is called ةمَ ِكَل (Kalima). The plural is Kalimat. Arabic words can be divided into three types:
- Ism (noun) - a person or a things
- Ismun, (Asma’un)
- Nouns usually have
- Alif & Lam (at the beginning)
- Tanween (at the end)
- Fi’l (verb) - an action
- fi’lun (af aalun)
- Verbs come in one of the following patterns:
- fataha, yaftahu, iftah
- Harf (particle) - a joining word, usually a one- or two-letter word (90% of the time)
- harf, (huruf)
