Three women has been recorded to have suckled him.
- The first woman to suckle him ﷺ was his mother Lady Aminah al-Zahriyyah
- followed by Thuwaybah al-Aslamiyyah, whom was Abu Lahab’s slave that he set free on the news of his ﷺ birth (it is reported that Allah ﷻ lesson his punishment in hellfire on Monday’s due to this)
- Then after Halimah bint Abi Dhu’ayb al-Sadiyyah suckled him, where hee stayed with her amongst the Bani Sa’d for four years. By suckling him she gaained much good in terms of sustenance and prosperity
Umm Ayman Barakah al-Habashiyyah also took him ﷺ in her care.
