Mandatory (Fard) amount
The mandatory amount of wiping is the amount wiped by the three smallest fingers of a hand over the top front part of each foot.
Tradition (Sunnah) amount
The Tradition in wiping is to wipe with his fingers held apart longitudinally (in a straight line) from the tip of toes to the shin/lower leg.
- permissible to wipe in the opposite direction however, it goes against the sunnah
- wipe the right and left at the same time
- one time is enough
