Period for the resident
- Period of permissibly of wiping socks for resident is one day and night. i.e. 24 hours.
- 24 hour begins from the time the hadath takes place i.e. from the point wudu was broken after he state of purification and putting the khuff on. Not from the time he put on the foot gear.
Period for the traveler
- Period of impressibility of wiping socks for traveler is three days and nights. i.e. 72 hours.
Changes between states
- If one is resident and then they travels before the 24 hours is up, then he completes the time period of the traveller, which is 72 hours.
- If he was travelling and returns (becomes a resident) from the journey after wiping for 24 hours, then the permissibly ends.
